Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. Last year we marked the 125th anniversary of our foundation as an institution dedicated to supporting science, industry and the professions with a distinctive interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach to teaching, research and knowledge exchange.
The University now seeks to appoint academic staff within the School of Science, Engineering and Technology.
The School of Science, Engineering and Technology has a diverse and established range of research and teaching activity including internationally renowned environmental, forensic and biomedical science research, and high quality teaching in biotechnology, civil engineering, environmental science, food and health science and forensic science.
Following the expansion of Abertay’s Environment research theme and development of our undergraduate course in Environmental Science and Technology, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in fields of environmental statistics, climate change, air pollution, imaging science, X-ray computed tomography or a combination of these areas. Reporting to the Head of Division of Science, you will provide high quality teaching and research in a field complementary to the expertise of current staff, providing teaching and support to undergraduate and postgraduate students across natural and applied sciences.
The roles require engaging educators who can deliver innovative teaching, lead and develop curricula in response to changing demand. Research is an important component of the position and appointees should enhance our research profile, conduct independent research, supervise students and collaborate across the Division and wider community (for example in Biomedical, Forensic or Food science). We envisage that experience for these roles may have been gained in government, industry or academia, or a combination of these areas.
