Abertay University's School of Science, Engineering & Technology are recruiting three new Heads of Division
The School of Science, Engineering and Technology offers a broad portfolio of established teaching and research including forensic science, biomedical science, environmental science, food and civil engineering and now seeks to appoint three Heads of Division

Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. In 2013 we marked the 125th anniversary of our foundation as an institution dedicated to supporting science, industry and the professions with a distinctive interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach to teaching, research and knowledge exchange.

The University now seeks to appoint three Heads of Division within the School of Science, Engineering and Technology.

The School of Science, Engineering and Technology offers a broad portfolio of established teaching and research including forensic science, biomedical science, environmental science, food and civil engineering. Divided into three divisions – Science; Natural and Built Environment; and Food and Drink – the School offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to develop graduates who can apply scientific understanding to create technical solutions in contemporary society. The School prides itself on providing an excellent education which is relevant to the future career development of all its graduates. At postgraduate level, the courses are supported by Abertay’s key research centres: FIA (Food Innovation@Abertay); ACE (Abertay Centre for the Environment); and UWTC (Urban Water Technology Centre). The School is also home to Abertay’s internationally renowned SIMBIOS Centre (Scottish Informatics, Mathematics, Biology and Statistics), which is a multidisciplinary research team using systems approaches to addressing complex ecological, biological and environmental problems such as soil ecosystems and tumours in tissues. The School is also a leader in the use of X-ray CT for the non-destructive characterisation of porous materials. The School and University pride themselves on having a greater proportion of students who are taught by REF2014-entered staff than any other university.

The closing date is 12th March 2015
