The opportunity for companies to convert their biological waste or by-products into biofuel, addresses both a waste disposal problem whilst producing a source of renewable energy. Companies can gain a competitive edge by generating new revenue streams, reducing costs, meeting environmental goals and cost-effectively complying with legislation.
The Scottish Biofuel Programme in collaboration with the LoCal-Net programme hope to raise awareness of the potential use of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) as a sustainable energy option and discuss the challenges and opportunities.
